The Australian queen of Blues and Soul.  I have admired and sung her music for most of my singing career, so when I had the chance to share the stage with her I could hardly eat for days before the gig.  Known for her aggressive and perfectionist nature I literally shook on the spot when her backing vocalist didn’t turn up and I was summoned for backing vocals.  Now, harmonies aren’t my strongest point and Renee worked this out pretty quick but due to lack of vocals for her number I stayed on after my own numbers and sang for four of her songs.  Known as a difficult woman, she was far from it and I can truly say she is a brilliant artist and was a true professional then, and every time I have seen her perform. With the release of her new album, Renéessance this is a woman who has survived a rollercoaster career due to pure talent and sheer guts and determination.  A lesson to anyone in any career they are striving for.
