HOW MUCH WALLPAPER OR PAINT FOR YOUR HOME?

pic Showroom Designers Guild, London by SB

Knowing how much to use when wallpapering or painting can leave you scratching your head with miscalculations that leave you either rushing to the store to buy more (and hoping they still have the same dye lot) or a shed full of tinted paint you can’t reuse.  Use these simple calculators from Living Etc Magazine to get yourself organised and save yourself the stress.
TIP
Wallpaper  – add extra wallpaper to your calculations for patches and a few mistakes you may make while hanging.
Paint - paint can last at least 8 years if sealed properly (don’t have in the hottest spot of shed or garage) Perfect to have a tin for touch ups or a freshen up without painting the whole room.

THE EASIEST WAY TO A SPLASH OF COLOUR?

2010 and we want to know what colours to put in our house. The beginning of this decade is all about being bold and splashing colour in your home. Safe neutrals will always be in fashion but be daring and take a leap this year in colour. The easiest and cheapest way to put colour in your home? CUSHIONS

Sunburnt Orange warms a cold interior. Look for ways to introduce texture such as these knitted cushions from Luna Gallery

A Squeeze of Lime at the showroom of Designers Guild in London

Sunflower Yellow cushions made from fabric available from Grant Dorman, jump from the Veleveteen bedlinen from Kylie At Home
