THESE SHOES WERE MADE FOR…….BATHING?

Now this has to be a Carrie Bradshaw must have!  Designer bath tub in the shape of a shoe?  It is not to everybody’s taste but there must be a market out there for ladies who have a whole room (or wing of a house) dedicated to shoes.
These Audrey and Audreyette baths have been created by SIGIS who are known for their incredible mosaic designs and  strong colours.  The bath is created in a mold  and then the tile designs are put on by hand.  I cant even imagine how much it costs and as I am asking, I obviously cant afford it!

What I do love is the waterfall spout that will tumble water down on to your luscious locks making you feel like an expensive, pampered goddess.
I still think they should have called them Carrie and Carriette!

Would you buy something like this if you could afford it?

SHOWER LOVE

Most people’s awakening starts with the annoying BOOM coming from the alarm on the bedside table. For me it is walking into the bathroom with sleep in your eyes, turn on the shower and that first warm spray on my face and my day has begun.  Here are some ‘creative’ showers to get your day going.

I love the compact look of this shower, I’m just not sure the ease of putting it in and out of the shower holder.  And for a shorty like me, struggling on my tippy toes first thing in the morning could be a bit dangerous.
WATER SAVER & AWARD WINNER – HALO SHOWER

This shower was the winner in the BIA competition by REECE, Australia.  Not only was the winner awarded a substantial cash prize it is now in production  and available in all REECE stores.

I’LL HAVE ONE OF THESE PLEASE!

Zucchetti hanging rain shower head -  All it needs is glass walls and a private outdoor garden and it would be like showering under a waterfall everyday.

‘AQUARIAN’ by VITRA

I wonder if it plays ‘Tubular Bells’ as you shower?
MEDUSA IN YOUR HAIR
This unique shower head by VADO will give you a shower with lots of little massage impulses I expect.  But I wouldn’t want to still have a hangover with paranoid tendencies.

THE CIRCLE & DESIGNEX AWARDS WINNERS

I travelled to Sydney in April to attend DesignEX 2010 and saw so many wonderful products and displays that truly inspired me. So today (May 21st) on The Circle Ch 10 I shared with the girls (and the rest of Australia!) a couple of award winners that truly caught my eye.

Caesarstone -Motiva
Winner Category – Internal Surface Finishes
First company to use a quartz surface with laser technology. The design is lasered into the surface then sandblasted in the grooves. It can be used for a walls, furniture, benches and of course kitchens. When using in kitchens it must comply with the Building Code of Australian Standards. At this time it comes in the Black Crocodile design and the White Lace design.

Skape Tub by Karim Rashid for Xflo
Winner Category – Bathrooms
The tub is made of a Liquid Acrylic Resin tub to help create perfectly shaped curves and its unique seamless finish. The Skape Tub is stain resistant, antibacterial and it is designed to look like the base is growing out of the main surface.

Liquid Tiles for Academy Tiles
Winner category – flooring
These tiles are made from non-slip tempered glass and have been created using high tech-Aerospace technology! Like a surface Lava lamp with colour changing LED’s, these tiles are perfect to walk, jump, or bust a move on the dance floor.

Now DesignEX isn’t just about the awards, there are some off-the-wall installations (I will be posting soon a brilliant video and pics of one of the design areas soon) and other products.
Here are just a few of interest.

BATHROOM TILES HEAT UP

Bored with the static look of your bathroom? These heat sensitive tiles change colour when hot water, body heat and general heat touches the surface. Leads to interesting body patterns you could leave. Think of your shower as a big colourful Magna Doodle. The tiles can also be used on benchtops and floors, take your socks off and watch your footprints disappear as it cools down.

TAKE ME TO THE POOL MOM!

Gosh, why does pool weather make you feel so good! All of a sudden your reborn…

I have decided that I want this “lagoon” in my back garden. Yes my back garden may be the size of a shoe box, but who cares! The neighbors would love it, forget neighborhood watch, its all about the neighborhood pool. This pool in Chile may be the largest man mood lagoon in the world according to Guinness World Records, but my pool is going to have hot men in speedo’s carrying free cocktails. Any takers?

A BATHROOM WORTHY OF AN OSCAR

Kate Winslet will keep her Oscar in the toilet!
A comment from Kate Winslet makes me ponder the type of bathroom worthy of an Oscar. With Kate’s down to earth approach and talking of renting a house in Italy or her favourite haunt in Cornwall, you can only imagine poor little Oscar slumming it next to, or supporting a large stack of toilet rolls while she keeps her down to earth approach in check. I however would want Oscar to be in the most luxurious of surroundings. A place fit for a king!

“Modern and luxurious at the Four Seasons“. Even a sofa to lie on and contemplate the enormity of being an Oscar winner.
